Backend engineer in San Francisco

Chomp is seeking an experienced backend engineer to take ownership of our crawling and search engine components. We're ideally looking for someone with experience at a search company, although this isn't essential. The ideal candidate is well-versed in both PHP and Python as you'll be using both of these languages on a daily basis. We're looking for a regex and scripting wizard with experience building multi-threaded applications. You'll also be in charge of our search indexing and ranking algorithms, so this is very much an all-rounder position. The right candidate will be excited by that rather than intimidated.

Innovative recruiter needed to help grow exciting technical team in San Francisco

Chomp is looking for a in-house recruiter to rapidly grow our 5 person team. We are a scrappy startup, so we're looking for someone who excels at end-to-end recruiting - from sourcing candidates and placing ads, to resume screening, to scheduling and co-ordinating interviews, to closing candidates. In particular, we require someone who is able to bring innovative sourcing skills to the table as attracting top quality, culturally appropriate candidates to come in for interviews will be a key performance metric for this role. Please note that the vast majority of the roles to be filled are software engineer positions so technical recruiting experience is essential.

This role can be either a part or full time position, and offers extremely flexible working hours/days. It is ideal for an ambitious person who wants to step up early in their career, or an experienced recruiter looking to move to a more flexible position.
