Micro EE in Shhhh...

Stateless Creations is an early stage startup working to create an inexpensive, mass-marketed consumer product which will enable physical objects to be represented and shared through the web. We're seeking Electrical Engineering talent to complete our proof of concept which consists of a small, low power "sensor" of sorts.

Our team is comprised of one Software Engineer and three Tufts University Gordon Institute graduate students. We're working full time, and completing our MBAs part time. We have experience in Web, EE, ME and are all expanding our business acumen.
We placed 3rd and won $30k in prizes at the Tufts 5th Annual 100K Entrepreneurship Competition in March. We did not place higher due to the lack of a prototype, which is what we're striving to complete now. We've made great progress in the last few months towards that goal, and are now reaching out to Micro Electrical Engineers with the talent and skills to help us achieve this major milestone who are interested in getting involved in a startup in exchange for equity.

The person we're seeking may currently have a full time job (if you can contribute a few hours a week - that is fine!), or recently been laid off and has a few years of experience with electrical engineering prototyping who is looking to get involved in an exciting startup in their free time. Additionally have the ability to experiment with components on breakout boards, test theories and functionality, and conduct research into related areas when problems arise. Inventiveness and being self-driven are very essential qualities for this role.

Our entrepreneurial team can provide great direction, guidance, and advice, but in the end we're seeking these skills because we do not possess them ourselves and need someone reliable who can do appropriate levels of research and testing to finalize our first proof of concept. Upon completion of the proof of concept, we'll be filing provisional patents to protect our process, model, and any aspects of this "sensor" which are unique enough to be patented. Don't miss out on this opportunity to get involved in an exciting startup whose long-term aim is to have our product in millions of households around the world.

Additional specific qualities based on the current direction we've headed include Micro controller experience, (we've been looking at Atmel chips and playing with an Arduino nano board), PCB (Printed Circuit Board) design, IC (Integrated Circuit) design, i2c protocol, any experience with near field communication, additional low bit-rate bus communication methods, low power or RFID powering methods (if Familiar with the Wiegand Effect: http://archives.sensorsmag.com/articles/0598/wie0598/index.htm ) - these are all a plus.

If you're familiar with hackaday.com, or similar sites, you're a member of a local EE lab, you're an electronics enthusiast, or you've created prototypes in the past: you're likely someone we'd like to hear from.

As we're currently in stealth mode, we'd be happy to share more details regarding our business offline, to help you better understand the upside of this opportunity.

Please send us an email with any information about your relevant experience and interest based on this description.

View full job description | View company profile
