Looking for Rock Star Front-end Developer in New York

NYC Social Media commerce start-up is looking for a Front End developer that wants to be part of something disrupting and big. We have already completed an 8 month beta test for proof of concept and the PROOF is in our data. Your primary responsibility will be to produce standards-compliant cross-browser compatible HTML, CSS and JavaScript that matches new design specifications. Experience with JSP is a must. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in an iterative agile development process environment and will work closely with our back end development team.

This is a full time equity/comp structure. This is truly an excellent opportunity for the right person. Those who will thrive are those that are passionate about the opportunities that exist where new technology, community and start up culture intersect.

Required skills:
• Experience in an agile development environment
• literate with JSP pages, and front end JSP style development
• Champions standards-compliant HTML and CSS with focus on creating semantic markup
• Strong AJAX with JavaScript and experience in DWR and Prototype
• Expertise in achieving cross-browser compatibility in IE, Firefox, and Safari
• Good Java development experience in a Start-up environment

Pluses:
• Experience with Apache and Tomcat
• History of projects in social media, browsers, and mobile web
• Obsession with new technologies and open source tools
• Experimental, user focused, and iterative development practices
