Live Streaming venture seeks programmer in San Francisco

I am in the process of putting together a 3-person team to undertake a live streaming business venture. The concept being to find one person worth following around 24/7 and stream their life live over the internet (think the movie Ed TV but over the internet). We have a great video production person on board, and myself who has various experience starting internet companies. We need someone with some good computer programming experience to round out the team. We have a source of funding available once we bring this person on board!

Requirements:

1. Degree in Computer Science
2. Couple years various experience
3. Ability to integrate Wowza, with amazon Ec2, with a custom flash video player (if you don't know what Wowza is please take a quick look)
4. Experience with Amazon Web Services
5. Experience with live streaming a PLUS
6. Startup experience a PLUS
7. Flash video player experience a PLUS
8. Must be fun to work with

Mobile App Developer in San Francisco

Ranter is seeking a Mobile App Developer to develop Ranter smartphone applications across the various smartphone platforms - iPhone, Blackberry, etc. This person would also help assist our CTO when necessary with building out the core messaging platform and API.

With Ranter you will be able to create on-the-fly chat rooms around a specific topic (i.e. Who wants to goto happy hour?) that send push notifications to any device or service that your friends are already using - iphone, blackberry, text, facebook, email, etc. There will also be social networking aspects thrown in to keep users engaged.

We recently placed 2nd at the Drexel University business plan competition (www.lebow.drexel.edu/Centers/Baiada/Entrepreneur/Conference.php) – receiving funding, office space, and other services. You will be working with 4 other passionate entrepreneurs who have combined previously raised ~ $1.5 million dollars in funding and sold 2 companies.

We are looking to bring this person on full-time immediately, but will settle for part-time for the right person. Must be local to Philadelphia.

Ranter is seeking a Graphic Designer (User Interface) to join the team. Ranter will eventually have multiple interfaces – ranter.com, Facebook app, numerous smartphone apps, text and email integration. This person will be an integral part of shaping the look and feel of all of these. Besides creating the graphics, html, CSS - we would look to this person to “own” the complete user experience.

myGovern "Making government transparent and social"

If you ever wanted to work on something with the potential to touch millions of users, as well as change the entire political landscape... this is the right project for you!

Will be a government/political social network with a wikipedia feel. Users will be able to receive customized updates regarding elections, representatives, legislation, issues, actions, news, etc. based on their location (National, State, and Local) and what is important to them.

Users themselves will provide the various information and updates via a wikipedia-like system. There will be a social network feel that connects users with other users based on issues they are For or Against, various groups, etc.

The goal is to make this the sole destination for customized government/political information that directly relates to each person, while providing a social network feel.

Initially the team will operate virtually, with everyone working part-time from home.

Currently the team is made up of myself, who has created several other web based businesses (StreamFame.com, Ranter.com, Multistrength.com). I have various product management experience with both startups and established businesses. I am currently working with a political consultant to make sure that myGovern displays the most relevant political/government information to the user. To complete the team we are looking for a lead developer/co-founder to actually build this from the ground up. This person needs to be dedicated, and an interest in politics would be nice.

We are looking to build a very light v1 within 2-3 weeks of bringing this person on. So we are ready to get the ball rolling...

We will look to add additional resources when necessary.

Seeking lead developer with an interest in Politics / Local government in San Francisco

The goal of myGovern is to enable people to easily participate in their local, state, and national government. Whether it is just receiving updates regarding the politicians or issues that they are interested in, or discussing and voting on whether they approve of various politicians and bills.

If you ever wanted to work on something with the potential to touch millions of users, as well as change the entire political landscape... this is the right project for you!

myGovern will be sort of a government/political social network that can be fully customized by the user. Upon first visiting the website it will auto-detect the users location and present them with the politicians in their area (local/state/national). The user can then add/delete politicians as well as add various issues to follow.

The current design uses a feed system very similar to Facebook, where users can receive updates for any politician, issue, bill, etc that they are interested. Right in this same feed the user can comment, approve or disapprove of the action, and share it with their friends on myGovern and other social networks.

The information that will power the site can be gathered from various API's that supply government information (such as opencongress.org), directly from the users, or a combination of both. This will be something that we will have to figure out.

The goal is to make this the sole destination for customized government/political information that directly relates to each person, while providing a social network feel.

I currently live in San Francisco, so depending on your location we will probably start out working part-time virtually.

Currently the team is just made up of myself, who has a good deal of product experience working both for established companies (phillyburbs.com) as well as startup-ups (StreamFame.com, Ranter.com, Multistrength.com). I am currently working with a political consultant to make sure that myGovern displays the most relevant political/government information to the user. To complete the team I'm looking for a lead developer/co-founder to actually help build this from the ground up. This person needs to be dedicated, and an interest in politics would be nice. I have enough available funds to pay for hosting and any other necessary expenses.

I'm looking to build a very light v1 within 1 month of bringing this person on. So I'm ready to get the ball rolling...
