We are building a data-intensive platform within in the social-networking space which works with very large and rapidly growing datasets. As part of this development, we build, deploy, and maintain applications which need to be able to efficiently present and process this data, for our web application front-end, and for batch processing on the backend.

We are looking for a backend developer, who is particularly well versed with data warehousing & data mining, and the solutions to the scalability problems faced when an application outgrows the capacity of a single database system.

We are a very small start-up, and although there is a dedicated focus on the application back-end for this position, we all do a bit of everything; so you might find yourself working on diverse tasks while you're here, and we offer great opportunities for career growth.

We are building a hot new application in the social networking space, and are looking for a creative and efficient developer to lead up the front end of TheHotlist, as well as contribute to our mobile applications (iPhone, Blackberry, Android). The focus of this work will be mostly about implementing a great-looking, fast, efficient and easy-to use AJAX front-end. As a small start-up, the ideal candidate will also be able to make contributions by doing some work with graphics (i.e. Photoshop/Illustrator), as well as be comfortable working within a PHP web application.
