Co-founder/CTO (.NET guru) for a noble mission in Chicago

SUMMARY: Business with a noble mission is looking for a dedicated and driven technical co-founder who's strong in intuitive user interface design and is capable of writing applications integrating social media, streaming video and classic casual games.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
• Must be able to design and build user interfaces intended for uses who are not tech savvy and easily intimidated by technology. So experience creating user interfaces that are intuitive, simple and fun to use is valuable. (In the long term, there's even an opportunity to integrate use of dedicated physical input devices.)

• Must have a broad range of technology experience and ability to pick up new technologies on the fly. That's because while mission remains the same, technology will definitely change through time. So we must adopt and innovate.

• Ability to use .NET or Java for to develop desktop & web apps using Skype API

• Preference for exposure to any of the following:
. o Ruby on Rails or other MVC framework for web app development
. o Video & audio chat technologies, VoIP, video streaming, IM apps
. o Game and interface development with Flash / Flex
. o Apps on Facebook or other social media
. o Building or integrating classic casual, multi-player online games, such as chess, cards, board games, trivia games.
. o Cloud computing, such as Amazon Web Services

• Bonus points for any of the following non-technical capabilities:
. o Experience forming partnerships with technology vendors to bring new products to market faster
. o Experience in online marketing campaigns
. o Experience developing distribution channels
. o Network and ability to bring in additional funding

ABOUT US: The business addresses the problem of isolation for people (especially the elderly) living alone, while also enriching the lives of their families. It does so by providing super easy video calling along with engaging activities to increase the frequency and duration of virtual face-to-face interactions. So this is for a noble social cause, which will become even more relevant as the population of retirees doubles in the next 10 years.

LOGISTICS: Co-founder will have substantial equity and opportunity to shape the venture. Preference is given to Chicago area, but not necessary.
