Software Engineer - Location Analytics in Boston

Locately has built the first market research platform that can figure out where consumers shop, eat, and play from location data collected from mobile phones. We're able to answer questions such as: How many people are going to Costco this month Vs. last month ? What effect did their recent ad campaign have ? What restaurants is McDonald's losing market share to ?

Our customers love our data and include a number of the top 10 consumer brands. We currently collect data on many millions of store visits a year and are in the process of scaling up and need to add another software engineer to our team.

The ideal person will love coding and working with data. Some of the technologies we use include: Python, Numpy/Scipy, Django, Postgres, PostGIS, AWS, ..

We're a smart, experienced group of engineers building a new kind of software to take in large volumes of GPS data from mobile phones and understand what people do in the real world. It figures out things like: How many people are going to Costco this year Vs. last year ? What restaurants do football fans eat at ? What stores are Target's biggest competitors ?

We have an initial version and a few high profile customers, including ESPN. We’re funded by top-tier angel investors, including the founders of Delicious, DuckDuckGo.com, and Compete.com.

The ideal person will love coding and location data. We use a lot of different technologies (Python, Django, Java, Postgres, AWS, a little Matlab, ...) and care more about what you can learn than what you know.

A Summer Sales Internship with Locately is an opportunity to learn the business of technical sales at a technology startup. It is an opportunity to learn about the CPG industry - both manufacturer and retailer - with a focus on market research, consumer insights, and shopper insights. You will also develop your skills in communications, problem solving, and solution building. Each intern will be assigned important tasks, which will include sales planning, outreach to prospects, and qualification of prospects.
