hover.in is a user-engagement platform that helps brands reach their online audiences using the best of what the web has to offer, though in-text & in-video broadcasting. Since going to market in January 2009, we have engaged with over 1 million unique visitors a month, in 5 different languages adding thousands of hours of user-engagement & millions of interactions of rich media and applications. The startup is co-founded by two passionate entrepreneurs and has been seed-funded by Media2Win in 2008.

What we have achieved so far

Bhasker V Kode, a techie and Arun Prabhudesai, a blogger at 'trak.in', met online and spent several months brainstorming how they could fix the under-served market of intext advertising networks. Hover Technologies was officially incorporated in 2008, and the journey has been fascinating so far. Hover.in was also one of the 5 internet startups that was nominated at Proto.in in Jan 2008 for our web-based product that targets brands and publishers. Early in 2009, we announced a seed round of funding backed by serial entrepreneur Alok Kejriwal who saw the potential in the world's only language agnostic intext platform. But our vision is to stand apart from traditional advertising networks by letting brands reach their target audiences through websites and blogs with the best of what the web & television broadcasting has to offer.

In May 2009, when Comscore reported that Russia was the world’s most engaged social networking audience, they used just two metrics : (a) Average Hours per Visitor (b) Average Pages per Visitor. Within the properties of oneindia.in , hover.in increased the average time spent by a visitor from 760 to 1000 seconds, increased the avg pages per visit from 1.71 to 2.21, and improved their ranking from #136 to within the top #60 websites in india, over 3 months(according to vizisense.com data).

We are looking to revolutionize the internet space with the best practices from television broadcasting that brands and creative houses are familiar with, along with most engaging innovations of the web to build a familiar yet compelling proposition for the internet.

Position: We are looking for a HIGHLY motivated and results-driven co-founder with sales experience in the digital media space ,preferably with prior broadcasting background to take the market by storm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to be part of a pioneering execution team to introduce brands and internet audiences to a viral and "always-on" distribution medium whose time has arrived.

The candidate would understand how broadcasters manage television channels sales, to create, execute, measure, analyze and optimize sales and branding programs.

The Candidate will collaborate with Product Teams, Data Analysis Teams, Broadcasting teams, Campaign Management and other functions to identify, create and deploy highly effective sales and marketing programs, including content programming, branded content campaigns, outreach programs, blogs, co-marketing opportunities, social media, online advertising and more. This position is both creative and analytical in nature. To be successful, you will have very strong written and verbal communication skills and a passion for customer success. In this position, you will play a key role in identifying, developing and implementing awareness and acquisition and sales strategies to directly impact the critical business metrics.

Hi,

I just wanted to ping to let you know that Hover Technologies is
giving away ssh access to a 4-node cluster, where we're running a
distributed crawler , a CDN , a time-machine among several other
things.

If you have idea's as to how we can clock it to any additional use
that will help us take over the world, we have a couple of empty sets
of comfy chairs/tables, linux box's , wifi across our brand new
"headquarters" that sports a guitar, a bean bag , a sofa to crash ,
and a few of us for company.

Among the 5 member dev team ourselves - we've pretty much covered
administration & networking, erlang & python , css & graphics ,
javascript & HTML , plugin development, testing et cetera . So dont
mind us ... you can just chug along doing what you love to do . My
guess would possibly be contributing back to the community, scaling
our crawler , the backend or our cluster , leading teams , formulating
distribution and flowcontrol, or hack on prototypes in HTML /UI+javascript .
We'll even chip in a check at the end of the month as well. 8 )

A little about the company and product [1]. Sometime in 2007, I teamed
up with Arun Prabhudesai a US-return IT/marketing 10+ exp dude, to
co-found the startup and lead as CEO and chief-blogger [2], while I
handle the technology aspects. Prior to this, I was with
Bangalore-based startup - Tutorvista in the education space [3] Hover
Technologies was officially incorporated in 2008, and the journey has
been fascinating so far. We were covered by Yahoo Developer Network
[4] for our involvement in the community. Hover.in was also one of the
5 internet startups that was nominated at Proto.in [5] in Jan 2008
(the Indian startup showcase event) of our web-based product that
targets big web publishers and bloggers. The product as such involves
the in-text content delivery, drawing on considerable amounts of work
in data retrieval, natural language processing, and distributed
computing paradigms, apart from innovative takes on client-side
usability challenges . Among our first few developers include a google
soc [6] intern , as well as another Haskell / functional programming
hacker,and two more recent cluster-computing hackers.
We just got ourselves a nice plush office [7] and need someone,
whose going to play a major role not only within the company, but in the
developer community, and both user & publisher audience moving ahead .
So the ideal candidate will be someone looking to return Or to relocate to
India. And I doubt anyone will be joining us for the salary we're offering
for the first 4-5 months - but with stock opts, deferred bonus's and salary
hikes, it's going to be exciting times at hover.in as it grows [8].
