Lead PHP Programmer Needed for Minneapolis Startup in Minneapolis

SwapBeats, Inc. is Web 2.0 StartUp based in Minneapolis and we're hiring two programmers to join our team. One FrontEnd Lead and one BackEnd Lead (PHP).

We are looking for an experienced PHP web ninja with l33t skills who can leap tall buildings in a single bound, with or without the aid of JavaScript. You’ll grow (yes, that means help hire) a team of rock star developers to build the next generation of SwapBeats web features. We are a small, nimble team that is passionate about learning and dedicated to continuous improvement. Joining now means that you'll have tremendous influence over the technology, features, the direction of the site, and the culture of the company.

Process-wise, we use a test-driven approach to engineering including some elements of Extreme Programming. We're focused on rapid feature iterations, frequent prototyping, and a fanatical belief in user feedback. We test early and often. We're very interested in how we can improve how we do what we do.

The PHP Programmer will work directly with the CEO and will play a key role in our small company, beginning with helping estimate, oversee, implement, and prioritize future development projects. The candidate needs to be self-motivation, and have the ability to thrive in a small unstructured environment. As with any start-up, there will be ambiguity, and if you cannot work in this type of environment, please do not apply.

This is a flexible, full-time, paid position. After three months, there will be a chance for equity ownership in the company, along with chance to begin receiving company benefits.

In a single phrase, we want the person who doesn't just say, "I'm self-motivated" but actually is.

Lead Front-End Programmer in Minneapolis

We are looking for a Lead front-end HTML, CSS, AJAX guru. Candidates must be able to write semantic and accessible code and use advanced techniques on a regular basis. Need to be comfortable taking Photoshop files from the design team and create valid markup while working along side a back-end PHP developer.
