Lead Visual/UI Designer - Contract Position - Web Application in Philadelphia

NOTE: We are not currently actively hiring for this position, but would love to talk to you about future opportunities. We will create hire early if you are the perfect person for this role.

We are looking for…
A UI and visual designer (yes – you need both skillsets) to design our webapp from conceptual wireframes and develop the UI to be handed off to our rock star development team.

You should be talking to us if you’re…
- interested in defining the entire user experience for a product
- happy working at an early stage startup (you know – lots of responsibility, small team, fast moving, ownership for your work, ability to communicate across functions, comfortable making company-defining decisions, not a ton of structure, no admin support, etc. etc.)
- looking for an opportunity that lets you work from wherever you are
- looking for a contract-based, fixed-deliverable project, that may turn into a longer term full-time opportunity
- and if you have 3+ years of experience designing interactive web applications or software (not just websites).

What we know we’re not looking for. If you think…
- web application design is the same thing as website design
- you can design a site without talking to the planned site users
- engineers can never build the things you design, and that
- Flash is the answer to all of your complex UI interaction requirements
...you’re not going to enjoy it here. No worries, let’s just pass.

We’re looking for someone who…
- has designed successful web applications
- is passionate about the things they’re working on
- can count a lot of people who’d love to work with you again
- is sufficiently self-confident to accept other people’s recommendations if they’re better than yours

And yes – we know the world of good design usually separates out visual design and UI, but our needs are really for one person who’s a rockstar visual designer + can hold their own when it comes to UI.
