We recently moved into a shared office space in SoHo alongside other up and coming startups (including Indiegogo, Gifthit, and SeedInvest), and are currently seeking an entrepreneurial go-getter to join our young team.

We want to work with tenacious people who take smart risks and accomplish amazing amounts of important work.That said, we also want to work with people who laugh, people we can celebrate our wins with and who will help us find opportunity (and or humor) in our losses.

Objective:
Make our current and prospective customers really like us, think about us on a regular basis, and want to tell other people about us. (This job is not so much about getting people in the door, as much as it is about turning those already inside into loyal RentShare supporters.)

Development Partner and Project Collaborator in New York

We are looking for a strong developer who is an innovative and creative person. You should be someone who is enthusiastic about tech and startups, who not only can build great software but can also design it (and I'm not talking about graphic design). You should be comfortable with foss software and linux environments. Former experience is not as important as your ability to learn new technologies or create them BUT strong python knowledge is a PLUS.

We are a lean, fast paced startup. New features and site updates are released on a strict monthly schedule. The team is comprised of 5 members...2.5 on the business side, 2.5 mainly on the tech side. The .5 on each side is representative of the president who is very active in both the business and the tech sides of the company.

Python Developer / Development Partner in New York

RentShare is a fast growing, angel funded startup that is here to kill the rent check.

We are currently seeking a talented python developer to tackle a variety of projects. Here is a description of one such project: https://code.rentshare.com/projects/async_http/ -- If it seems like the sort of coding you get excited about (and you think that you would jive with our company culture) then let’s try to find a way to work together! We pay competitive rates and offer some nice perks!

WHAT WE RUN:
All our development is done on linux, specifically Ubuntu and that’s what our servers run. We have a custom in-house python framework that does some fancy stuff you can’t do in django, but we do still use django for the content related aspects of the site. Our database is sql but we love new tech and have been playing around with different types of databases, specifically Neo4j, for fun. Sometimes we have to build python bindings in C. We use trello for project management. We constantly develop and upgrade our “close to the metal” style realtime payment infrastructure. We don’t (and can’t) use any of these stripe style magic box payment abstraction apis. We work with bleeding edge encryption and security information technology. We’re all about open source and the community and submit patches when we fix things in software we use and contribute new projects when we can.

We are a young company run by young founders. Currently, we are headquartered in a fun shared office space in SoHo alongside other killer startups (including Indiegogo, Gojee, and Take The Interview)We don’t hold to strict schedules. Sometimes we don’t work on tuesdays, sometimes we work on saturdays, sometimes we do our work at the office, at home, at coffee shops, or outside (if we can find wifi)...basically we have deadlines and we hit them in whatever way works best for whoever is working on it.

RentShare is an angel-funded startup seeking a talented front-end mobile developer to help turn our site into a killer Iphone and Android app. The API is already built. What we need now is someone to come in and implement a slick UI/UX.

We have been growing steadily over the past 6 months (from word of mouth alone) and are now trying to amplify our growth rate in part by beefing up our public relations and social media tactics.

We are seeking one or more motivated and outgoing college students or recent grads to help manage projects relating to our social media / online marketing efforts and help us attract publicity.

Because we are currently a lean startup with a very small team you will be working directly with the company’s Marketing Director and Co-Founders during this exciting time in our development.

Time Commitment...
We are looking for someone who can start ASAP, stay for 2 or more months, and can commit 10 to 25 hours (2 to 3 days) each week - working on site at RentShare’s home office in SoHo.
