doggyloot is an exciting and rapidly growing web start-up that facilitates the daily discovery of dog
products at up to 75% off. . We are the #1 site in this space (and, yes, there are actually over ten
competitors) generating increasing revenue each month. We officially launched in February '11 with
just two people, and now consist of a talented full-time team of eight (and counting). doggyloot was
founded within and is currently officed at the incubator at Sandbox Industries. As we grow, there are
more software development needs than ever, and we are seeking an intern to help our Lead Developer
expand and maintain the website which remains the core of our business. This internship is paid and
could have the potential to become a full time position depending on our needs and the fit.

doggyloot is incubated within and backed by, Sandbox Industries (www.sandboxindustries.com), a business incubator and early-stage venture capital firm located in Chicago. You'll be based out of the Sandbox offices in the West Loop of Chicago, however, a great deal of your time may be spent evangelizing around Chicago and the suburbs for doggyloot. You will have the opportunity to be one of the original team members of a burgeoning business that not only includes doggyloot, but could include an entire line of highly targeted deal sites.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

* You're a natural evangelist and organizer. You planned the marketing push, corralled the team, and canvassed the campus to secure your college roommate the bid for class president.

* You love startups and building user and brand bases. You've maybe even worked on a company street team previously.

* You're a scrappy researcher. You were the one on the group project who found the sources no one else could find.

* You don't mind an ambiguous situation where it's not obvious what you need to do next.

*You are flexible and aren’t interested in working simply a “9-5”.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Work with us to develop guerilla and grassroots marketing campaigns for doggyloot

*Coordinate and execute these campaigns – a significant amount of your time will be spent actually promoting doggyloot which will require great flexibility, possibly requiring promotion in early mornings, late evenings, and/or weekends. These activities could consist of everything from visiting dog parks with a clipboard and asking people to sign up to receive our deals, attending local dog events, and more.

*Sales lead generation – we have an impressive, growing sales team, but we want to find them more leads - scour the web and/or any other sources you can find for great potential companies for our sales team to contact about running dog deals

*Account executive activities – test, coordinate, and finalize details and follow up related to deals is needed which may require email and phone correspondence with vendors who have already committed to running deals; if interested, in time the opportunity to call on new potential vendors could be a possibility
