Dev Ops Engineer in Mountain View

Are you looking to join a small startup comprised of an all-star team of engineers building a disruptive service in a multi-billion dollar market related to Security, Big Data, and Data Analytics?

As a Dev Ops engineer (think Super Sys Admin), you’ll be working as a core member of our operations team responsible for the ongoing management of our elastic 24x7 compute infrastructure in a highly secure environment. You will be responsible for deploying, operating, monitoring, expanding, and troubleshooting the service while at the same time maintaining very high levels of availability and response time. You’ll have an opportunity to be part of a small team to make a big impact and will work with leading technologies and components related to very large data sets (petabytes), search, messaging, scalable databases, etc.
We expect you to be an experienced engineer who has worked in the areas of system administration, system infrastructure, tech operations, managed a large scale web application in the cloud, and is familiar with processes and procedures related to availability reports, SLAs, compliance, security, etc.

Full Time Visual/Interaction Design position in downtown Mountain View

Work in downtown Mountain View on Castro Street close to CalTrain at a super fun startup. Create visual designs that make a difference in building an innovative cloud-based solution with a promising future and healthy funding.

At Sumo Logic, we are building powerful new tools to master the unprecedented data explosion now inundating enterprise data centers. We know the value of visual design. One of our co-founders came from mint.com, another studied digital media and design along with his engineering degree. Our goal is to improve data visualization while raising the bar on ease-of-use and intuitiveness for enterprise software. We need a visual user interface designer/graphic artist with consumer and business web design experience.

You will be an integral member of a small but outstandingly talented and fun team, including a User Experience Designer with enterprise, consumer, and game design experience (Electronic Arts' first Game Design Fellow), a VP of Product and Strategy with deep industry experience, and an accomplished GUI implementation team.

Your major responsibilities:
• Create visual concepts then iterate into increasingly high fidelity prototypes for user evaluation leading to the final visual design
• Work with the experience designer to integrate the information from customer evaluation and feedback to ensure a satisfying user experience
• Write the visual and behavioral style guide for the GUI components.

Requirements
• 3-5 years of consumer and business application web design experience in the entire range of visual design activities:
o concept drawings
o low fidelity wireframes
o high fidelity pixel-accurate renderings
o style guide for components and accompanying CSS
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a well-developed sense of design for web-based applications and the ability to use layout, color, typography, animations, and both standard and innovative interaction techniques to design effective and pleasurable user interfaces
• Experience designing data visualizations with graphs, charts, etc.
• Some skills in coding html and css for the final implementation, working with the implementation team
• Expertise with tools for each stage of this process.
