JavaScript (jQuery) Opportunity @ TalkTo in Harvard Sq, Startup, Stealth, Early-stage Equity in Cambridge

We're looking to bring on-board two experienced JavaScript engineers to help us prepare for our public launch. This will be a contract role initially with the intent (within 1 - 2 months) to transition into a perm role quickly w/ very early-stage equity.

Our platform: Python/Django, MySQL, JavaScript (jQuery), HTML5/CSS3, Objective-C & Erlang.

TalkTo is a stealth startup based in Harvard Sq. Our consumer mobile and Internet product is in private beta, and we are looking for extraordinarily talented engineers to help move the product from stealth to public launch. We're focused on mobile apps for real time communication. Team is currently made up of 5 (4 of whom are eng) and we will be hiring at least 2 eng in the near term.

Founders:

Riley Crane comes to TalkTo from the Media Lab at MIT, specifically within Sandy Pentlands's Human Dynamics Group. Before MIT, Riley spent 3 yrs as a Postdoc Fellow in Didier Sornette's Chair of Entrepreneurial Risks at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. Riley recently led the team that won the DARPA Network Challenge (10 Red Balloons). Read about it, or listen to Riley talk about it on The Colbert Report, or NPR at www.rileycrane.com.

Stuart Levinson most recently was an Entrepreneur in Residence at General Catalyst, a Cambridge, MA based venture capital VC firm where he was focused on new Internet and software opportunities. Prior to GC, Stuart was Founder & CEO of Venetica, a pioneer and leader in enterprise content integration. After IBM acquired Venetica in 2004, Stuart led the Content Discovery and Integration team within the Software Group.

Contract Python/Django/JQuery/HTML5/CSS3 Engineers at TalkTo in Harvard Square in Cambridge

Software Engineer (Contract to Perm)

TalkTo is looking for two experienced software engineers to help us prepare for our public launch. . Necessary skills would be experience in a few of the following: Python/Django, MySQL, JavaScript (jQuery), HTML5/CSS3, Objective-C & Erlang.

Position Requirements
* 3 - 5+ years hands-on development experience.
* Experience with web front-end technologies and techniques including: JavaScript, HTML/CSS, jQuery.
* Knowledge of Python preferred.
* Self-starters with a positive attitude and commitment to excellence.

Desirable Qualifications
* B.S. in Computer Science or other quantitative field
* Experience with and passion for UI design
* Experience building Internet-scale systems
* Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and text search technologies
* Experience with protocols such as XMPP
* Experience working with, and contributing to open source software projects is a plus.
