Internships- Smart and creative programmers, artists, marketers, etc. in Brooklyn

Intern with angel-backed, international startup DeskMetrics

Who are we: DeskMetrics is a real-time analytics platform. We help software developers gather and analyze the data they need to make their software better.

We started in Brazil in the end of last year, and raised a local angel round in December. We’ve grown the team since then and are now a small team spread (not very evenly) between Brazil and New York. Find us on TechCrunch, ReadWriteWeb Brazil, TheNextWeb, Quora, and even the Financial Times (but you’ll need a subscription to get to that one.) You’ll work directly with our CEO and CTO, as well as people with titles that include letters like “VP” and R, S, T, L, N, and E.

Who are you: We’re interested in meeting anyone creative and smart- from hackers to suits to barefoot artists (and especially combinations therein.)

+Hackers:
-Interested in Analytics (did you figure out we’re an analytics company?)
-Experience, curiosity, or propensity for:
Python
JavaScript
Java
C# (.NET and Mono, for Windows, Linux and MacOS)
C++
Delphi (holy shit!)
Objective-C (iOS and MacOS)
ActionScript 3 (for Adobe Air)

But seriously, it doesn’t matter, as long as you’re proactive, curious, and hard-working get in touch. We’ll talk with you a little bit, send you a problem to work through, talk to you some more and then invite you to work with us.

Note that while in Brazil it’s standard (expected) that you include your age, whether you’re married, and a lot more personal information with your application, Uncle Sam and DeskMetrics both disagree. Whether you’re retired and picked up an O’Reilly book at your local library or looking to move on from messing around on your laptop during recess, we don’t care. (But seriously had Dennis Crowley skipped recess where would DodgeBall, Google, and FourSquare be now!?)

+Anyone:
Take a look at our website, our press coverage, our product, and/or anything about us. Tell us what you think or what we’re doing wrong. Include a resume (typo-free drafts are fine) and a paragraph or two about yourself, but don’t worry about every piece of wording.

Where:
As we work on finding an office, we’ll be working between coworking spaces, apartments, and coffee shops around Brooklyn and Downtown.

View full job description | View company profile
