System Support Engineer in Alexandria

Zigron is seeking an initial System Support Engineer (1-2 positions). This engineer/engineers need to be “hands on” and based on the West coast of the US. Those Support Engineers will have responsibility for providing support to customers using our client’s product. This support will include: ability to read a wiring diagram to check system configuration, follow written instructions to load various OS versions on a computer (this includes Red Hat Linux and Windows XP/7), good understanding of both Windows and Linux file structure, install the client’s software product on the computer, install software libraries and edit basic text files, knowledge of IP network basics, ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with customers and support engineers, and the ability to represent the client-company in a professional manner in front of customers. Knowledge of cellular standards and network standards including the 3GPP/3GPP2 specifications is a plus.

Primary customer support is performed on-site at customer locations performing software installation and configuration, inter-operability testing between the hardware and software, executing test cases with our products and commercial UE devices. Travel around the Western part of the US such as San Diego and Seattle will be required.

NOTE: our client/company develops advanced 3GPP/3GPP2 protocol software development products that are used by leading edge carriers and phone developers around the world. As member of the client’s team, the candidate/candidates will be exposed to these technologies during the commissioning of a system.
