Technical Co-Founder at Investors Ark in New York

Investors Ark (IA) is an early stage start-up in New York City looking for a technical co-founder that will give equity to the right person. While I am looking for someone with a technical background, I hope that the right candidate can become a full partner in the company that is interested in business development, capital fundraising, etc. The website uses PHP/JS/MySQL so the ideal candidate must have these skills and the appropriate general technical knowledge of running a tech company.

The goal of the website is to help individual investors band together to influence public companies. Investors would be enabled by conducting the type of activism that is usually reserved for institutional investors or hedge funds. The ideal candidate will be as passionate as I am about democratizing the relationship between corporate America and individual investors.

Here are the personal characteristics I am looking for in a candidate (taken from Hacker News):

1. Do what it takes-edness. Willingness to dive in and fix any problems that come up and to take charge since there will not be anyone else to do so. This includes the willingness to do lots of grunt work - there is no one to delegate to.
2. Persistence/tenacity.
3. Ability to deal with uncertainty and not freak out.
4. Generalist technical knowledge.
5. Get a lot done. Need someone that is able to problem solve independently and go figure stuff out.
