Software Engineer (Joomla / JQuery / mySQL)

Our team is well down the path towards building a fantasy football for politics; we call it Fantasy Politics. We received a very small amount of seed funding from an executive member of the Democratic Party, and have already garnered substantial partnership interest from several top media outlets. We've already been covered in the Huffington Post and by ABC News and have partnerships with Intrade and OpenSecrets so things are off to a fast start.

We're racing to get our service running, and are seeking talent to assist in the build of our gaming platform. We have a prototype built; we have use cases and user stories complete; we have an architecture defined.

Job Description

We're looking for an excellent, dedicated software engineer, minimum of 3 years direct experience, who can work under our top tier CTO to build out the site and prepare for launch. The site is constructed in PHP, using the Joomla framework, with JQuery components for the user interface, and Python / mySQL on the back-end. We are looking for someone who is strong with component development, direct JQuery background, and using mySQL in a replicated environment. Additionally, this person(s) will be also providing post launch production support as we ramp up funding.

The role will require 25 - 30 hours per week, with at least 50% of the time to be provided during the weekdays. You're welcome to have additional sources of income, such as consulting, until capital is raised. However, making this company succeed needs to be your primary work-related priority. We're looking for people who are hungry to make this game a reality.
