Technical Cofounder for Innovation Crowdsourcing Platform at Dogpatch Labs in New York

Outovate's mission is to do for consumer product innovation what Twitter did for news: give the power to the people. We help companies build consumer products people actually want, because they're invented and validated by the consumers themselves. Think Quirky.com as a platform for any consumer brand, instead of a single company.

The problem we aim to solve is that developing new consumer products is a risky endeavor, and most consumer products fail. We're building a crowdsourcing platform to help consumer brands innovate, validate, and launch new products more effectively – by involving their customers at every stage in the process. Outovate takes the principles of Lean Startup (namely Minimum Viable Product, Customer Development, and Customer Validation) and applies them to consumer product innovation through crowdsourcing.

Outovate was born at the Lean Startup Machine competition here in NYC. We won by getting a Letter of Intent from Procter & Gamble with a Sunday morning cold-call, and now are working out of Dogpatch Labs in Union Square with some of the most exciting startups (and awesome people) in the world. More details here: http://theleanstartupmachine.com/2011/11/lean-startup-machine-made-me-quit-job/

If you are interested in revolutionizing product innovation and putting consumers in the driver's seat, please email dave@outovate.co with some links (Twitter, LinkedIn, Github) and let's get this party started.

View full job description | View company profile
