About the Role:

You will create tools with power and simplicity that teachers can rely on to improve the effectiveness of their classrooms. You enjoy tackling challenges such as developing strategies to detect and prevent cheating, building beautiful interactive dashboards, and creating non-traditional interfaces for students who cannot read English. You understand scalability and will be a key member of the dev-ops team responsible for making sure our overall systems are meeting the needs of our users as we grow. Our first products are being built on Rails with a sprinkling of JavaScript, but we welcome enthusiastic, inquisitive candidates with backgrounds in all web frameworks.

About the Role:

You live and breathe reliability, scalability, and system-level design. You could probably build any tool that you need, but you're familiar enough with existing options that you rarely (if ever) find yourself building from scratch. You will create efficient ETL systems to integrate with many data sources, flexible and scalable data warehousing solutions, interfaces to support efficient analysis and processing, and infrastructure to keep our web front-end and databases responsive, reliable, and secure.

We strive to delight our users each time they open our app. That means building out complex systems to support our product features and making sure that Junyo works, fast, for everyone, all the time. Our Server Ops will be the mastermind behind putting our machines to work to serve millions of users each day. Join our small, agile backend team, configuring different systems, conducting backups and ensuring that all systems are properly administered.
