Sales Manager in Chicago

We are a startup that makes innovative technology for restaurants. Our main product is Uncorkd, tablet software that enables restaurants to create and manage their own electronic wine and beverage menus. We are looking for an entrepreneurial salesperson to increase our outbound sales activities in the Chicago area and find new restaurant and hospitality customers for our service.

The Sales Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with customers and partners on behalf of the company and for actively prospecting for new accounts. Most of the job will consist of calling on new prospects in the hospitality industry to sell them on our software. This will include a lot of cold calling and going door-to-door to potential customers (restaurants, nightclubs, hotels), showing them demos, trying to close sales and receiving feedback so we can develop new products.

We’re hiring people that want to embark on a hazardous startup journey. We’re looking for people that share our passion for pushing technology forward in the hospitality industry. The Sales and Marketing Intern will work closely with the Vice President of Sales and CEO to develop and execute a marketing strategy and assist with sales. This will include developing and distributing marketing materials, meeting with potential customers, making sales calls, and assisting with customer follow-up. Interns should expect to be very hands-on in many aspects of the business and should feel comfortable talking with restaurant owners and managers and other corporate partners. We’re looking for people that want to get their hands dirty, are interested in technology, and want to work in a start-up.

Our main product Uncorkd, is an iOS and web SaaS platform that enables restaurants to manage interactive iPad menus and is already being used by restaurants across North America. We’re also building large-scale web services to power the wine & spirits, food and beverage industries, providing access to data and insights that will revolutionize the market. Because a billion dollars isn’t cool anymore, we’re disrupting a $50 billion market.

We are looking for a Lead Developer that is excited about embarking on this journey with us. The lead developer will be working on some interesting and challenging tech problems around managing and integrating data, search performance, mobile analytics, and other really cool things we have on our roadmap for both web and mobile. We’re currently on a LAMP stack and Objective-C, but willing to work with developers with experience in other stacks to build on our existing platform.
