UX Design Intern in CA

Travtar.com, an Internet travel startup, is looking for a UX intern who would like to gain experience in an entrepreneurial setting.

Expect 10-15 hours per week dedicated to helping Travtar finish its web design. Because we are a small team, you will be assigned real tasks. You will be getting your hands dirty with HTML, CSS and jQuery. You will collaborate closely with the Lead Designer and working under deadlines to get work completed.

This will be a great opportunity to learn and to be a CRITICAL force in the startup's design efforts.

Travtar is an exciting new consumer-facing web startup in the coolest industry of all: Travel. We are a secondary marketplace where travelers can buy and sell prepaid hotel reservations.

What do we mean? Imagine you've booked a great trip and you've gotten great deals on everything. Something comes up and you find out you can't go. Bummer. You start calling all the places you made bookings and start cancelling. When you go to cancel the hotel, you find out that great deal you got was because the rate was non-refundable. SOL.

So now you're down quite a lot of money. Instead of losing it all, you can go to Travtar and post it there at a discount. Now, another traveler can come buy it from you and instead of losing 100% of your money, now you only lose maybe 20%. And the traveler who bought from you gets a discount too!
