Lead Developer /Business Services: Ruby on Rails in Cambridge

The Lead Developer of Business Services Software is responsible for leading the specification, design, and development of the workflow and technology GenArts’ uses internally to support sales and customer service functions, including customer records, sales records, customer licenses, sales lead, opportunity and named account management, and reseller management. This position has primary responsibility for all aspects of GenArts’ custom web-based CRM system, including integration with other back-office systems that is developed primarily using Ruby on Rails. Software Engineer in Test in Cambridge

The Software Engineer in Test is responsible for building and leading the company’s software quality assurance function to support the company’s strategic plans and accompanying growth. This includes designing and implementing processes and procedures necessary to successfully support multiple products and multiple simultaneous product releases. With five products on different combinations of six platforms and three operating systems, the company currently has over twenty major product releases and many more minor releases each year. The Software Test Engineer is responsible for providing the infrastructure, policies, and procedures that can efficiently scale as the company grows and adds future products and releases to the schedule.

The Software Engineer in Test is responsible for developing and building automated test tools and executing scripts using these tools to verify the functionality of the company’s product releases. The position will focus on developing automated test scripts (70%) and testing (30%). This role is also responsible for documenting standard guidelines and procedures for code development, version control, and testing, and works with the company’s development teams to ensure that developers follow these procedures.

Additionally, the Software Engineer in Test plays a key role development planning and scheduling of product releases, both major and minor. This includes ensuring that standard procedures are in place and followed for product releases.
