We're wrapping up another round of funding and are seeking a Data Scientist who will not only bring innovative new ideas to the table but also see those ideas applied to real-world challenges through hands-on coding and operations. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or Master’s degree in CS, Statistics, Math, EE, Physics or similar field with a strong background in mathematics and algorithms. You should also have programming experience to translate your ideas into code. As part of our research group, you’ll be working alongside several PhDs with expertise in machine learning, NLP, and social privacy.

Location: Champaign, IL (University of Illinois Research Park)

What you Need for this Position:
• PhD/MS in CS, EE, Math, Statistics, Physics or equivalent experience with strong grounding in mathematics and algorithms
• Programming Experience

Other Highly Desirable Skills:
• Java or Scala
• Knowledge or experience in Machine Learning or NLP
• MapReduce
• Hadoop
• Statistical Packages (MatLab, R)
• Amazon Web Services
