Code as Craft

At chideo, we’re creating an environment where you can produce great work. From idea through implementation, you get to decide what you work on, who you work with, and how to best accomplish your goals. The ideal candidate will be able to come up with new features, work with designers, prototype, make decisions about architecture, test, code, deploy, and track metrics. If any of those things sounds hard, great! We'll work together and figure out how to automate it or make it easier. We'll explore new programming techniques to make our code better and more maintainable.

As a startup, we love to ask questions. Why is this feature important? Why did you structure your code that way? Can it be simpler? How do we measure success? What's next? Our favorite answer is "Let's find out!" We want someone who understands the tao of engineering on both web and mobile, and can leverage the strengths of each. If you love GitHub, hate life without a REPL, embrace open source, and contribute back when you can, you're probably a good fit.

We recognize that few people have the time or talent to do all of these things. We’re more interested in someone who can identify his or her strengths and pull in others to fill in the gaps.
