This programmer position will provide technical support for, and infrastructure maintenance of, the reporting system for the purpose of supporting the Center for Medicare and Medicare Services (CMS) Prospective Payment Systems (PPS) -exempt reporting project

The position is responsible for designing and managing the appropriate tools and interfaces required

This contract is guaranteed for one year, with two possible annual extensions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Will manage, monitor, maintain and document the data architecture necessary to support the Center for Medicare and Medicare Services (CMS) contract and its reporting activities.

Will develop and implement additional user interfaces to meet the functional requirements of the CMS contract and address the unique needs of the Prospective Payment Systems (PPS)-exempt centers participating in this program.

Will develop and implement requisite data exchange protocols as specified by CMS to support the requirements of the CMS contract.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum four years of dedicated programming experience.

Mastery of relational databases or Very Large Data Bases (VLDB)

Strongly developed expertise in Oracle and JAVA, including J2EE and JMS.

Demonstrated experience with JAVA Application Servers (JBoss, JRun, Oracle AS).

User Interface development skills using JSP, Struts, JavaScript, and CSS Ajax.

Full understanding of Rich Internet Applications (RIA), Web 2.0.

Strong knowledge and interest in application design and implementation using new technologies and tools.

Object Oriented Design skills, and proficiency using version control systems.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) necessary to effectively interact with all levels of organization.

Capable of providing excellent customer service.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet skills.

Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Must be able to multi-task.

Display high level of energy and thrive in a fast paced environment.

Self-motivated and able to work independently and as a member of a team.

Ability to plan and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
