Final Cut Pro Editor Intern in Brooklyn

Our organization seeks creative editors to work one-on-one with the project Director on punching-up existing video assets as well as creating short, original, and contextual works over the coming months. We offer any potential intern an opportunity to express their own voice at our arts organization where we are currently rebooting our identity in preparation for an exciting next phase of production. Future collaborations which our organization is entertaining will provide successful interns a chance at showcasing their contributions alongside other established performers in the arts.

We conduct our magic at two different locations, at the principal's studio in Greenwich Village, as well as our production facility at The Old American Can Factory in Gowanus, BK. Interested applicants should be prepared to work out of the downtown Manhattan location primarily, but will be welcomed to participate at the workshop as well.

note: the 'Experience' section below is what we are calling 'Bonus Experience' as we are at minimum expecting any applicant to have the necessary 'Skills' required to start right away.

Want to join a crew of individuals who are solving challenging problems related to the development of original technology, and contributing to a narrative whose messages are focused on renewable energy, clean water, and delivered through the medium of music?

We're working on a multi-faceted project that requires a compelling mobile experience. In short, we've got a bunch of custom bikes generating enough electricity to stage large concerts and studio recordings. By producing inspiring events and assets to raise awareness of sustainability issues, we hope to continue drawing other creatives into the conversation along with us.

Where's the mobile component? There are a few! We want to provide our audience and staff with a useful, entertaining, real-time perspective during a live event. We're designing and building:

We're building our system to be smart – it has dozens of sensors that are tracking state in real-time, reacting as necessary, and logging the data to our our servers. We need to combine the power from all the bikes, buffer it, and make it available as necessary.

There's a lot to work on, and we're tackling things in manageable, well-defined chunks while the bigger picture evolves in the background. You'll be working with a flexible schedule both on your own and in our workspace at the The Old American Can Factory in Gowanus, Brooklyn. You'll get real-world experienced and work closely with our engineers and designers.

You'll be helping us design and implement responsive, high-performance web apps for interacting with sensor data and also for tracking our ever-growing inventory of design documents, parts, and components.
