Lead Developer/CTO in Newport Beach

We are seeking a talented lead developer-to-become-CTO to join our team, working as a part of the management team, to architect and guide the execution of a global consumer-facing web-based application that will transform the way people create, manage and interface with the events that punctuate our lives on a daily basis.

The current team consists of two non-technical co-founders who currently work for technology companies and interface with developers and programmers. Advisors include a former C-level executive of a software company sold to IBM for nearly $2 billion.

What we're looking for is someone with considerable technical expertise who aside from making high-level strategic decisions about use of platforms, languages, technologies will roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty in code.

He or she will have broad-based product development experience and the judgment to make thoughtful decisions that balance user experience, cost, and implementation challenges. In terms of specific technical skills, knowledge of the entire LAMP stack, PHP, Java, MySQL, AJAX and DHTML are crucial, as we expect that the CTO will be able to make a substantive contribution to the development process beyond simply managing it.

Must have true entrepreneurial and GTD spirit. Ability to effectively manage budgets and schedules, including ability to successfully prioritize and manage relationship between quality, features and timelines. Strong communication skills in written, verbal and presentation formats.
