About the team:

Lookout's development and operations disciplines are tightly integrated. We have a core, elite Operations team and we're looking for another experienced engineer. Our cloud is the backbone of our service and provides constant support of mobile clients in the field, enabling them to receive real-time threat protection, backup and restore their data, find and protect their lost devices, and stay connected 24 hours a day. The vast majority of our users connect to the service on a daily basis, resulting in billions of requests per month. The performance and reliability of our cloud is paramount to our success.

As a key member of our Ops team, you'll share in taking ownership of our service to ensure security, stability, and scalability of our systems as we scale our production infrastructure. You'll work directly for one of our founders. We're transparent, iterative, highly collaborative and strive to optimize everything. Your peers will look to you to solve some of the toughest problems with a hands-on approach, and you'll be faced with plenty of exciting scale challenges as we grow to support tens of millions of users across hundreds of servers with petabytes of storage in multiple data centers. About the Role:

We’re a small team working on a very large, modern system with a user base of millions, so you’ll get to work on a cutting-edge product and service on a large scale. Ideally we’re looking for somebody with an aptitude for design, a strong focus on frontend implementation, and the ability to play nicely with the backend. Like everyone else on our team, you should be a great generalist constantly willing to learn new things and use the best tools for the job. Currently, we use HAML, SASS, Passenger (i.e. mod_rails), MySQL, Rails, jQuery, and a dash of Merb for good measure.

You’ll be working a large-scale application, already in use used by many people, so an aptitude for developing elegant, robust, and maintainable frontend code is a must.
