Eleven Learning (www.elevenlearning.com) is reinventing college textbook publishing. Our mission is to build tools that help authors bypass the big publishers and make better, cheaper books. Now we're searching for a web developer who can take us to the next level.

That's where you come in. Your job is to:
* Build features to improve our products (a web-based textbook reader; author community; crowdsourcing tools; etc.)
* Either know the technologies we're using (Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and JQuery) or be a fast learner
* Interact / solve problems with our designer and QA people
* Be self-motivated

We're self-funded and are working for equity. We're looking for someone who's interested in working part-time for equity now, and switching to a full-time paid role when we raise funds in a couple of months.

Editorial Leader for College Textbook Start-up in Cambridge

We're launching Eleven Learning, a new college textbook publisher. We've got big ideas that will be truly disruptive to the industry. Now we need someone to lead our publishing efforts from beginning to end. We're not concerned with what your current title is; what is critical is that you are extremely hands-on and also possess a broad view of how the textbook industry works.

Your job is to:
1. Set up and execute our strategy for author relations, from identifying potential writers through paying royalties.
2. Perform marketing in the most creative and cost-effective fashion possible: blogs, social networking, et cetera.
3. Organize and supervise our (very) simplified book production process.

Now we need someone to lead our publishing efforts from beginning to end. We're not concerned with titles (or whether your current one is 'acquisitions editor' or 'publisher' or something in between); what is critical is that you are extremely hands-on and also possess a broad view of how the textbook industry works.

Your job is to:

Author Community Manager for College Textbook Start-up in Cambridge

Eleven Learning is reinventing college textbook publishing. Our mission is to build tools that help authors bypass the big publishers and make better, cheaper books. Now we're searching for someone with both textbook industry experience and a familiarity with social media who can help us design and run our next product: a social network for textbook authors and adopters.

Your job is to:
- Attract authors to the community by blogging, networking, and so on
- Represent Eleven Learning to the author community
- Handle all offline author communications (such as paying authors who distribute their books through us)
- Suggest new community features
- Do whatever it takes to make Eleven Learning a success

Bonus points if you're familiar with the recent textbook start-ups or community-based editing (e.g., OFPS).

3. Code front-end functionality using XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
4. Coordinate with developers to convert mockups into live components of the site.
