This job opening is in our Brooklyn office. Interested candidates be sure to include their solutions to these problems, along with their resume:

Technical Problems:

Provide Memory and Time Complexity for your solution to both below. Use Java, C/C++ or Python.

1. Given 2 strings, determine whether one is an anagram of the other. Implement this in a function "bool isAnagram(str1, str2)" which should be production-worthy code. It is OK to assume the normal English alphabet.

2. Given a list of integers in no particular order, return when you find 3 that sum to 0. You can return any 3.

3. Imagine a graph that consists of directional links between nodes identified by small non-negative integers < 2**16. We define a "cycle" in the graph as a nonempty set of links that connect a node to itself.

Imagine an application that allows insertion of links, but wants to prevent insertion of links that close cycles in the graph.

For example, starting from an empty graph, inserting links 1 -> 2 and 2 -> 3 would succeed; but inserting a third link 3 -> 1 would fail, since it would close the cycle 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 1. However, inserting a link 1 -> 3 instead would succeed.

In Java or C/C++, declare data structures to represent your graph, and give code for an "insert link" function that fails if a new link would close a cycle. What, roughly, is the space- and time-complexity of your solution?

We're looking for a multi-talented and finely disciplined UI designer to work with Rob, the Product Manager (and designer of the current site). The two roles of design at Etsy are:

* Present information and get out of the way.
* Present information in such a way that encourages people to play with the data.

Often times these are two separate designs. On Etsy, a good example of this is the straightforward nature of a Category Page versus the Time Machine or Colors. We are looking for someone who can sift such things accordingly. Unnecessary design is unnecessary.

Puzzle:

Design a new Member Info for Etsy's in-house admin panel. Imagine what Emily, who heads up Support here, has to handle on a daily basis in order to resolve the questions & concerns of Etsy's buyers & sellers. When she has to help a member, she looks them up in the admin panel and goes to their Member Info screen.

This should be a single screen that presents all the data there is about a member in a format that's scannable & actionable. This means that this screens needs to be a kind of heads-up display, with windows into every aspect of an Etsy member's account, from join date to transactions to bills (sellers only).

Also think about page features that would specifically help multiple Admins provide consistent, informed support over a longer period of time.

Your solution should be a single screen, submitted in JPEG, GIF or PNG format. I expect the design to be close to wireframe-minimalistic, but feel free to experiment. I'm most interest in how you grasp & organize the variegated dataset.
