We’re a UK company based in Shanghai. We employ a diverse team dedicated to driving forward our international e-commerce strategy, all based on open source software.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The role is ideal for an experienced Java project manager looking for a challenging and rewarding role. We offer a competitive base salary with additional incentives, 21 days holiday per annum plus other benefits. We provide visa and living permit if required.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In this position you will be responsible for further developing the website and other EPR systems, both from a functional and technical perspective. Your role will involve working closely with the CEO and his management team plus various 3rd party service providers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Virtual Village uses the opensource Apache OFBiz (http://ofbiz.apache.org) project. We will need you to quickly get up to speed with the OFBiz framework and take an active role in the community to ensure we are using this system to it’s full potential.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As the Java Project Manager you will be responsible for:&lt;br /&gt;Creating and then implementing a development strategy &lt;br /&gt;Managing a team of 7 Chinese Java Developers &lt;br /&gt;Ensuring best practice is followed in all areas of development &amp;amp; testing &lt;br /&gt;Performance and scalability of the website &lt;br /&gt;Liaising with internal stakeholders and 3rd party service providers&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To be considered for this position you must have previous project management experience from within a technical/ IT field. In addition to your excellent communication skills, you must have hands-on experience with the following:&lt;br /&gt;Java &lt;br /&gt;SQL&lt;br /&gt;Experience with standard IT best practices such as Prince and ITIL would be a distinct advantage to your application.
